The seventeenth edition of the Indian Premiere League (IPL) 2024, the action-packed T20 league, is back to thrill cricket lovers around the globe with high-octane performances. The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a Men\'s 20-over cricket league held annually in India. The T20 league was announced by the BCCI in 2007 and is currently contested by ten city-based franchise teams. IPL is the most popular cricket league in the world with millions of viewers around the globe; in 2014, it was ranked sixth by average attendance among all sports leagues. The seventeenth edition of the league, IPL 2024, will feature as many as 74 matches between the 10 participating teams including the qualifiers, semi-final and a grand finale. There are 10 teams participating in the IPL 2024 tournament. These teams are Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, Kolkata Knight Riders, Lucknow SuperGiants, Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Over the years, 13 teams have played in the past ten seasons of the IPL, of which, five are no longer part of the tournament. Out of these teams, Mumbai Indians and CSK have won the maximum number of titles at 5. They are followed by Kolkata Knight Riders, who have won the league twice.
