Glenmark Pharma's wholly owned subsidiary, Ichnos Glenmark Innovation (IGI) has received an upfront payment of $700 million from NYSE-listed AbbVie for a molecule used in cancer treatment, the company informed exchanges, sending the shares higher by over two percent in early trade on September 9.

"The payment is in accordance with the agreed contractual terms and is being made towards an exclusive global licensing agreement for IGI’s lead investigational molecule- ISB 2001 - across North America, Europe, Japan, and Greater China markets," <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/india/stockpricequote/pharmaceuticals/glenmarkpharma/GP08">Glenmark Pharma</a> said.

Earlier this year, Ichnos Glenmark Innovation (IGI) and AbbVie had announced an exclusive Global Licensing
Agreement for ISB 2001, which is a Trispecific Antibody for Multiple Myeloma. Under the terms of the
first-of-its-kind agreement for an Indian biotech player, AbbVie has exclusive rights to develop, manufacture, and commercialize ISB 2001 in North America, Europe, Japan, and Greater China.

The exclusive global licensing pact features $700 million as upfront payment and $1.225 billion in milestones, in addition to tiered, double-digit royalties on net sales.

In an interview with Moneycontrol on July 14, Glenn Saldanha, Chairman and Managing Director of Glenmark said the deal with <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/news/business/stocks/glenn-saldanha-glenmark-s-r-d-unit-now-self-sufficient-for-years-after-landmark-abbvie-deal-13278839.html">AbbVie has 'de-risked' the company</a> and made the R&amp;D unit self-sufficient and self-sustaining for at least 3-4 years.

"Effectively, by partnering, we've passed on the risk and de-risked ourselves. We've taken some money off the table. Crucially, we've retained the rights for emerging markets, including India. So, we've basically de-risked part of the asset by partnering with a big pharma and effectively monetising it," Glenn Saldanha said.

Glenmark is India’s 11th largest pharma company by market capitalisation and 12th in terms of FY25 revenue.

If approved, this will be the first <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/news/business/markets/infosys-board-to-mull-share-buyback-proposal-on-september-11-13530282.html">buyback of shares</a> announced by India's second-largest IT firm since 2022, when the company had agreed to a buyback proposal of Rs 9,300 crore with a minimum buyback price of Rs 1,850 per share.

Infosys made the announcement in the post market hours of September 8. The stock jumped more than 4 percent to trade at Rs 1,494 apiece on September 9, snapping a five-session losing streak. It is currently the top gainer on the <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/indian-indices/nifty-it-19.html">Nifty IT index</a>, as well as benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty.

The Nifty IT index rose more than 2 percent in the morning to 35,095 as sharp rise in heavyweights Infosys and <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/india/stockpricequote/computers-software/wipro/W">Wipro</a> contributed to the uptick in the sectoral index.

Infosys shares have dropped around 12 percent in the past six months, and are down nearly 21 percent in 2025 so far. This comes amid macroeconomic uncertainties following US President Donald Trump's harsh tariffs.

"Infosys is set to consider a share buyback on September 11.  This decision comes at a crucial time when technology stocks face headwinds, and the buyback may provide much-needed support to investor confidence," said Devarsh Vakil, Head of Prime Research at HDFC Securities.

In the <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/news/business/earnings/infosys-q1-net-profit-up-8-7-on-year-to-rs-6-921-crore-beats-street-estimate-13313535.html">first quarter of the ongoing financial year 2026</a>, Infosys reported an 8.7 percent year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 6,921 crore, beating expectations. Revenue for the quarter grew 7.5 percent on-year to Rs 42,279 crore.

Infosys said it expects revenue growth of 1–3 percent in constant currency terms for FY26, revised up from 0-3 percent earlier. The firm maintained its operating margin guidance at 20–22 percent.

Craft Emerging Market Fund has acquired 3.87 percent equity stake in Prime Focus, the motion picture and video production company, for Rs 187.86 crore via open market transactions.

The stock saw a strong gap-up opening and was locked in 10 percent upper circuit at Rs 173.90 throughout session, closing well above the upper line of Bollinger Bands with robust volumes.

Craft Emerging Market Fund PCC through Citadel Capital Fund bought 63.75 lakh shares at Rs 156.55 per share for Rs 99.8 crore, and via Elite Capital Fund purchased 56.25 lakh shares for Rs 88.06 crore.

However, Augusta Investments I sold 62.24 lakh shares in <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/india/stockpricequote/mediaentertainment/primefocus/PF13">Prime Focus</a> at same price for Rs 97.44 crore, and Marina IV (Singapore) offloaded 57.75 lakh shares for Rs 90.4 crore.

Prime Focus was also in action last Friday as five investors including veteran market experts Ramesh Damani, Madhusudan Kela-owned Singularity AMC, and Utpal Sheth acquired 3.3 percent stake in the company for Rs 146.2 crore. However, Marina IV (Singapore) and Marina IV sold 48.06 lakh shares (1.55 percent stake) in Prime Focus, while Augusta Investments I offloaded 54.48 lakh shares (1.75 percent stake) at the same price.

Craft EM Fund acquires 3.87% stake in Prime Focus for Rs 187.86 crore

Craft Emerging Market Fund has acquired 3.87 percent equity stake in Prime Focus, the motion picture and video production company, for Rs 187.86 crore via open market transactions.

The stock saw a strong gap-up opening and was locked in 10 percent upper circuit at Rs 173.90 throughout session, closing well above the upper line of Bollinger Bands with robust volumes.

Craft Emerging Market Fund PCC through Citadel Capital Fund bought 63.75 lakh shares at Rs 156.55 per share for Rs 99.8 crore, and via Elite Capital Fund purchased 56.25 lakh shares for Rs 88.06 crore.

However, Augusta Investments I sold 62.24 lakh shares in Prime Focus at same price for Rs 97.44 crore, and Marina IV (Singapore) offloaded 57.75 lakh shares for Rs 90.4 crore.

Prime Focus was also in action last Friday as five investors including veteran market experts Ramesh Damani, Madhusudan Kela-owned Singularity AMC, and Utpal Sheth acquired 3.3 percent stake in the company for Rs 146.2 crore. However, Marina IV (Singapore) and Marina IV sold 48.06 lakh shares (1.55 percent stake) in Prime Focus, while Augusta Investments I offloaded 54.48 lakh shares (1.75 percent stake) at the same price.
